Biomarkers for Arthritis
Students will gain hands on experience with the latest techniques for protein analysis. HPLC will be used to separate proteins from arthritic and control rats. Arthritis specific proteins will be identified by mass spectrometry and sequencing techniques. This project has the potential of identifying biomarkers that can predict the progression of arthritis and the effectiveness of new therapies.
