Marine microorganisms
are an emerging frontier for the discovery of novel molecules with
significant pharmaceutical potential. In this project, undergraduate
research fellows will participate in the discovery of new antibiotics. It
is anticipated that students will blend various elements of marine
microbiology, molecular biology, and organic chemistry in the study of
unique bacteria isolated from saltwater habitats.
