6 Simple Steps to Apply for a National Exchange Placement

 

Step One

 

Complete the online general information session at uri.edu/international/nsegis and fill out the student information form at the end.

 

Step Two

 

Research schools and programs by visiting nse.org and University home pages. Be sure to use the tips listed in the General Information Session.

 

Step Three

 

Prepare a statement of purpose, no more than 500 words. The essay should be a short explanation of why you want to participate in NSE and what your goals are for the program.

 

Step Four

 

 

Download and complete the application. Remember to complete it electronically. Print the completed form to submit to the NSE Office. You may check your eligibility here.

NSE APPLICATION 2013-2014

Fall 2013:

Rolling Admissions after Feb.  25th 2013 for all Fall Placements

Spring 2014 Deadline:

Rolling Admissions after Feb.  25th 2013 for all Spring Placements

- Please call or email us for Campus availability after the 25th.

2013-2014 Scholarship Deadline:

Feb 1st, 2013. Early applicants are automatically entered into a $500 scholarship drawing. You must submit your completed application on or before the scholarship deadline to be eligible.

 

Step Five

 

Seek a professor or an academic advisor that can recommend you for National Student Exchange. They do NOT need to write a full letter of recommendation - just fill out the form below and sign it. The reference form can be e-mailed to nse@etal.uri.edu, or mailed to our office.

Step Six

 

Print out the application and make an appointment to meet with the NSE advisor. Applications cannot be submitted electronically.

To set up an appointment for NSE or to submit an application, you MUST meet with an advisor by calling the National Student Exchange Office at 401-874-5546.
