Coral Reef Conservation and Analysis

January 6 - 16, 2015

Students will focus on important global marine conservation issues. They will learn to employ the interdisciplinary theory for conservation and develop the practical SCUBA-based skills to solve real conservation problems. This will be an experiential, problem-based learning class in the purest sense.

Academics:

This program is open to students in all academic disciplines; however, students must hold a basic open water scuba certification. Students will earn 3 URI credits in NRS 475X. 

 

Location:

Bonaire is a Caribbean island located off the north coast of South America.  Along with Aruba and Curaçao, it makes up part of what is known as the ABC islands.

 

Accommodations and Meals:

Students will be residing at the CIEE research station. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included.
