When traveling with students, preparations must include registering the program plans with the Office of International Education.
All URI international travelers are required to enroll in URI’s Emergency Evacuation Services Program provided by FrontierMEDEX. The Office of International Education will register all participants on faculty-led programs (only) with Frontier FrontierMEDEX for the duration of the program.
Program Directors should refer to the Department of State travel advisories both during the planning process and immediately prior to departure (http://www.travel.state.gov/), where they may access information that includes, but is not limited to, current travel alerts and warnings. Program Directors can also review travel information on the FrontierMEDEX website.
Program leaders should know and become familiar with the location of the closest US Embassy or Consulate in the country/countries they will be visiting. A list of US Embassies around the world can be found at: (http://www.usembassy.gov/).
