This group will travel to the city of Cotui in the Dominican Republic where they will have an opportunity to spend 2 weeks living and working with the sick and poor in this developing Caribbean nation. 

Academics:

This program has limited space available and is only open to URI Nursing students who already have a RN. Students will earn 3 credits in NUR 446: Directed Study for RN Students. 

 

Location:

The Dominican Republic occupies the eastern two-thirds of the island of Hispaniola in the beautiful Caribbean. It shares the island with the Creole-French-speaking Haiti located at the western end of the island. The island has an average temperature of 78.8°F and great biological diversity.

Accommodations and Meals:

Students will have double occupancy housing in a dormitory setting. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided.
