International Internships

As the emphasis on gaining practical experience prior to graduation increases, so does students' interest in internships. Students at URI can access many different types of international internships through the Office of International Education. These are just a few of the options available:

  • Full-time internships (12-15 credits) affiliated with an established program. Go to the URI Study Abroad Programs page for a list of these programs.
  • Part-time internships (3-9 credits) combined with academic study (for 12-15 total credits) and affiliated with an established program. Go to the URI Study Abroad Programs page for a list of these programs.
  • Independently-arranged or non-affiliated internship. Any qualified URI student, with the guidance and supervision of a URI faculty member, may put together a non-affiliated internship or practical experience overseas. Students interested in this option need to start working very early with their faculty supervisor and the OIE.
