Welcome to the Office of International Education at the Univeristy of Rhode Island. We have knowledgeable staff dedicated to assist you in choosing the Study Abroad program that will best suit your academic and professional needs.

We offer students the opportunity to study with more than 200 affiliated study programs in over 40 different countries. Through these programs students develop skills needed to compete in the global market while pursing life-changing personal experiences, as well as fulfilling required academic components.

Generally speaking, studying abroad requires the following steps:

  1. Completing a Study Abroad General Information Session (GIS)

  2. Selecting a Program

  3. Meeting with a Study Abroad Advisor

  4. Application Process

  5. Completing the Pre-departure Paperwork

  6. Attending a Study Abroad Workshop
