As a returning participant, you are a wealth of information about the program you participated in, the country where you studied, and the experience of studying abroad and more.
If you try to remember back to the time prior to your pre-departure, what concerns did you have before you left and what would you tell URI students who are planning to study abroad in the future?

Complete a Study Abroad Program Evaluation
The OIE maintains program evaluations from returning students in its Resource Room. Students who are planning to study abroad can get first-hand knowledge about study opportunities by reading the students' evaluations. Fill out the on-line Study Abroad Evaluation Form.
Participating in the Peer Advisor Program is a great way to share your overseas experience. It is also a great way to educate others about the exciting world outside of Rhode Island. Go to the Peer Advisor program information page for more information or print a copy of the Peer Advisor Application Form in PDF format and return it to the OIE.
If you are a study abroad alum you probably can vividly recall your first few days/weeks after arriving in your host countries, the uncertainty you may have felt, the culture shock you may have experienced, the anxiety caused by not knowing anyone on campus. Every semester, URI welcomes International Exchange students to its campus from around the world and many have the same feelings and concerns you did…. Our Peer Ambassadors will have the unique opportunity of greeting these students during the first few days of their arrival, helping them get acclimated to the campus, and generally serving as a friendly contact to help smooth the transition into their new university environment."
