G'day all! My name is Katherine Kendrick and I studied abroad in Brisbane Australia during my junior year. I know that studying abroad was the best decision I made during my time here at URI. Australia is a beautiful country filled with amazing landscapes and the most friendly and talkative people. It should not be surprising then to know that Australia is a destination for people from all over the world. During my time there, I met and became friends with people from all over the world including South Africa, Germany and Finland. I now have friends all around the world and am already making plans to visit them to experience their home countries. On my way home, I was able to visit Fiji, which was also filled with taking long walks along empty beaches, snorkeling right outside of my hotel and hiking into tropical rainforests to see spectacular waterfalls and meet the villagers. If you were to ask me if there was any down side to going abroad I would have to say that the only negative thing I could find was that traveling doesn't satisfy an urge it just makes you want to travel more and more!
