The program will take place at Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China.
Hangzhou is the capital of Zhejiang province and its political, economic and cultural center.
With its famous natural beauty and cultural heritages, Hangzhou is one of China's most important tourist venues.
It is located on the low reaches of Qiantang River in southeast China, with a distance of 180 kilometers to Shanghai. It is one of the key cities in the Yangzi Delta area. The area is of subtropical monsoon climate, with distinctive four seasons and mild atmosphere and favorable geographical positions and natural conditions

| Academics: |
- 3 URI Graduate credits for LSC 597: Seminar in Chinese Librarianship.
It is part of the Global Education for Librarians and Information Professionals program
at the Graduate School of Library and Information Studies.
The Seminar is a
3-credit course from GSLIS. Participants are asked to attend
all class sessions and library tours in China and complete a
research paper after the Seminar ends. Non-credit option is
also available. Participants will attend all class sessions and
library tours with the requirement of the research paper.
Participants learn about different types of libraries and
librarianship in China, the role of the traditional, academic,
public, special and schools libraries in China. Students will have
an opportunity to learn the U.S.-China Million Book Digital Library
Project, which is instituted at Zhejiang University. Students will
determine the topic of their papers in consultation with the
academic advisor.
