Participants will make their own arrangements for air travel from the U.S. to Spain and back. The cost may depend on the place and date of departure (reduced rates may require advance booking and payment).

The Program Director, upon request, will be glad to provide information about, and assist with flight arrangements. However, The URI Summer Study Program in Spain DOES NOT sponsor or recommend any specific airline or travel agency. Any information we may provide students is for information only and does not constitute and should not be interpreted as endorsement.

We provide FREE bus transportation from Madrid (Barajas Airport) to Salamanca (not the return trip to Barajas) for those students who want to avail themselves of this free service, provided that they be at Barajas Airport (terminal 1 and 2) no later than 1:30 p.m., July 1, 2009. Once the bus leaves Barajas Airport, students arriving late must get to Salamanca at their own expense.

Orientation.  Upon arrival at Salamanca, Students will spend one or two days in cultural and academic orientation and will be tested for placement (program A students). The next four (4) weeks will be divided to classroom instruction and other activities as described above.

Grades. Grades will be based of classroom attendance, active contribution and performance in the classroom, examinations, and overall program participation.

Remember that by law only the student himself / herself can request, in writing, or through e-campus, transcripts, indicating institution (and address ) where they want the transcript to be sent.
