The SXSW (South By Southwest) Film Festival Program is designed to give students direct access to filmmakers from around the globe through their exposure to film screenings, Q&A sessions, interactive panels, trade shows and equipment demonstrations, and one-on-one mentor sessions with professionals working within the industry. Students will attend festival events for 9 days during the week-long film festival. After registration, students will get a subscription to SXSW World Magazine and access to an email listserve, which will start to announce screenings and industry panelists.

Academics:

  • Students will enroll in FLM 491: Independent Study (3 credits) or COM 410: Advanced Topics in Communication Studies
  • Pre- and post-trip course work required

Housing and Dining:

While in Austin students will stay in double occupancy hotel accommodations. Students will be responsible for payment of their own meals.
