- On average, URI degree-seeking undergraduates are 21 years old -- 9 percent are 25 or older.
- The most popular undergraduate major is Nursing - followed by Communication Studies, Psychology, Physical Education, Pharmacy (6 year - 1st Professional), and Human Development & Family Studies.
- 50 percent of 2008 freshmen are Rhode Islanders.
- 61 percent of 2008 degree-seeking undergraduates are Rhode Islanders.
- About 13% of URI female undergraduate student join sororities and 14% male undergraduate students join fraternities.
- URI students hail from 55 U.S. territories and the District of Columbia.
- More than one half of URI freshmen (54%) live in the residence halls.
