International applicants that have been admitted by URI, who intent to transfer from another US school (e.g., high school, college or university, language school, etc.), must request a SEVIS transfer from their current institution. The University of Rhode Island cannot generate an I-20 or a DS-2019 form until the SEVIS transfer has been initiated by the current school and/or previously attended school. For detail information regarding this process, contact a Designated School Official (F-1) or a Responsible Officer (J-1) at your current school in the United States.
