Information for Current International Students

If you are currently international student of URI, you should remember 15 points to maintain your status valid in U.S. You can also download that handout in PDF format.

If you are CITIZENS OR NATIONALS OF Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Kuwait,Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Algeria, Bahrain, Eritrea, Lebanon, Morocco, North Korea, Oman, Qatar, Somalia, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, Yemen, Iran, Iraq, Libya, Sudan and Syria, you must follow the special registration procedure described in ICE.

  1. OISS Registration
    Every beginning of the semester, you need to update your information with the OISS. Click here to download the form and bring the filled form to the OISS.

  2. Maintenance of Status:
    Once admitted to the United States in F-1 status, an international student must meet certain obligations in order to maintain his/her status.  Please click here to read about requirements.

  3. Part-time Information:
    If you need to take courses lower than full course of study, click here to read the details.

  4. Special Registration
    SEVIS announced updated information about special registration, click here to read the details.
     
  5. Academic
    • To register for class, please visit the Enrollment Services
    • To request for reduce course load, click here to download the form
    • To transfer to other universities, click here to download transfer form
    • To extend I-20, click here to download request of Extension form. You need to request extension at least 45 days before expiration date of I-20.
