As a new international graduate student you will be expected attend and/or respond to events and regulations from the URI Graduate School, your respective academic department and the Office International Students and Scholars,

Graduate School Course Registration: For information on the Graduate School, go to Course Registration

Academic Departments: For information on your academic department visit their respective website

International Teaching Assistants: If you have been granted a Teaching Assistantship/TA, you will be expected to take an oral proficiency test in English.  If and when applicable, you may be exempted from taking this test.

Office Of International Students and Scholars/OISS

The Office of International Students and Scholars and the Office of International Education will assist you with tasks related to validating your international student status, driver's license and social security card application (if you have a job/assistantship) during International Welcome Week!

Most Welcome Week events are mandatory for undergraduate students. Only the International Orientation (immigration matters) is mandatory for graduate students.
