The International Orientation held during International Welcome Week is mandatory. Welcome Week will include events and meetings that target international students (all categories).

Housing will be available during Welcome Week at an additional cost.

WELCOME WEEK SCHEDULE: September 2 - 11, 2015


ARRIVAL SERVICES - Arrival Services Form

Pick-up Services (airport or train) and Welcome Week events are planned for all of the following students:

  • All international and domestic exchange undergraduate students from partner universities (single semester or academic year)
  • New E.S.L. undergraduate students and BSMP students at the A.C.E. Language Institute, as well as Roosevelt International Academy students
  • New international undergraduate freshman

Students must complete the Arrival Services Form indicating their travel plans even if they do not request pick-up services. Submit the Arrival Services Form to the or fax to 01.401.874.4573 by July 15, 2015.

Please Note - The information below targets international fall admissions only!

The Office of New Student Programs invites you to join one of orientation meetings and events planned for domestic and international freshman and/or transfer undergraduate students.

Typically, the Orientation Events will include:

  • Overview of University Services
  • How to get involved at URI
  • Overview of University Systems
  • Information about to URI Academics
  • And much more

Please Note

  • If you are not already in the United States, secure a tourist visit to attend a URI Orientation event/session in June. You will need to exit the US and reenter with the F1/J1 visa.
  • If you already have a tourist visa that permits you to remain in the US prior to the start of school, you will still need to exit the US and reenter with the F-1/J-1 visa.
  • Unless you planned to enroll for classes (summer session 1 or 2), your student visa (F1/J1) will not be issued by the US State Department more than 1 month prior to the start of your studies (fall semester).


If you will not attend a June orientation session organized by the Office of New Student Programs, review and submit this form Academic Advising Form to complete your enrollment in courses for the fall semester.
