Media and Technology Services (MTS), a division of Information Technology Services (ITS), is in the process of migrating the University to a new phone system. The new system, Voice over Internet Protocol (shortened to Voice over IP or VoIP), is based on the same technology that provides high-speed network connectivity to desktop computers. It will decrease monthly telephone expenses, provide the foundation to build future communication services, and enable you to be plugged in or untethered at will.
The following links offer more information on the migration process, details on the new phones already in use on campus, the implementation process and cost, the monthly billing changes, future features and more:

The Phones...
Below are pictures of existing Centrex phone models and the new designated phone models that will replace them when your buidling is migrated to the new phone system. You will not be charged for your designated replacement phone!
Please Note:
If you wish to upgrade to a higher-end phone, click on the Upgrade Option link next to your model to see your upgrade options and the associated cost. If you upgrade your designated replacement phone at the initial consultation with the MTS contact, your cost will be only the difference in price between your designated phone and the upgraded model you select. The phones have been heavily discounted for the University and the associated upgrade cost includes the required phone license.
If you decide to upgrade your phone after the installation of your new phone, your cost will be the price of the upgraded model that you select, plus the cost of the phone license.
