It is necessary that one group take responsibility for keeping track of the Navigator classroom chairs - people keep 'borrowing' them from classrooms and not returning them.
Ryan Carrillo is being consulted on solutions to permanently mount the Contact Information Sheet in each classroom.
Swan Auditorium will continue to be monitored as 4 LCD projectors have failed due to electrical circuit fluctuation. A recording meter has been requested to determine fluctuation.
The CMT will continue to implement funded classroom improvements prioritized by the Joint Classroom Steering Committee (JCSC).
Improvement of general classroom facilities remains a problem because there is no budget to address physical space, furnishing needs, or equipment replacement.
Installing ceiling projectors over the next three years, to bring the percentage of installed general assignment classrooms up to 80% is a current goal.
Summer 2008
Spring 2008
The Joint Classroom Steering Committee (JCSC) will be the group that prioritizes classroom work. A memo was sent out requesting input for consideration. CMT reviewed the most recent Instructional Space Advisory Group (ISAG) 06/07 list, and added other projects that have since been brought to our attention.
ISAG 06-07 prioritized classroom projects:

GAC Room count = 106. 44 of the 106 have at least a ceiling mounted LCD projector = 42%.As a result of our ongoing discussions, Facilities Services Control Center (4-4060) - Supervisor, Lou Ann Diomandes provided us with our first Facility Projects Detail Report for Project #: 20070026. This tool identifies the Work Order number for all classroom problems that have been reported. It also shows which area is responsible for follow-up, what priority has been assigned to the task and a completion date if applicable. We will use it to track new and ongoing classroom problems.
NOMAD (Next-Order, Multi-Modal, Advanced-Design)
CHAF smaller auditoria - 18 replacement seats installed.

Planning and design underway for specific projects in Chafee, Quinn and the GSO Pell Inner Space Center. A meeting with OSHEAN, URI, CCRI, RIC discussed classroom capture requirements for the Accordent system.IEP II - MTS forwarded draft specifications to Paul DePace for review prior to going out to bid for AV installation.
Champlin brief proposals must be discussed with Garry Bozylinsky or his designate and Paul DePace. Successful proposals require their sign-off.
Facilities Services Control Center (4-4060) - Supervisor, Lou Ann Diomandes joined us for a discussion of how the Control Center works and how we might all be better able to work together on classroom issues. Currently the Control Center has two full time staff, Jill and Anne Marie, and two student employees. They work from 7:30 am - 4:30 pm. When requests are logged, a work order number is now issued, which simplifies follow up. Work orders are prioritized (priority, 1-2 days, 30 days, FIFO). When work is done in your area, a hang tag is now left on the door with status information (ordering parts, work completed, etc.) We determined that there are some reports that could be run by building to get an update on work order status. We'll experiment with that during the Fall semester.
ITS installed a Cox Cable drop in the Edwards Auditorium Booth, accessible by MU Tech Pro. 6/19/07.

Winter Break projects completed:
Discussed electric and data needs in auditoria of INDP and Center for Biotechnology and the Life Sciences (CBLS) building.
Cliff Katz set up annual deposit for classroom supplies, to be distributed by Custodial Services.
Facilities Services has identified that EDWS Aud, QUIN Aud and EAST Aud could all benefit from the same auto-open door solution that would link the wheelchair access door to the main electronic access door. When the main door is unlocked, it would automatically also unlock the wheelchair access door, and locking the main door would lock the access door. Until this solution can be purchased and installed, a key must be used to unlock the access door for every public event, and to re-lock the door after the event ends. Faculty teaching on a semester long basis are issued a key. One time use requires the pick-up and drop-off of a key from either Classroom Media Assistance, Access Control Office, or Memorial Union.
Fall 2005
Chafee 271 seating and carpet replacement project is complete.Electric receptacle has been added to instructor area of CHAF 277 for use with overhead projector cart.
