Re-configuring Email

Re-Configuring Windows E-mail Software for mail.uri.edu

Eudora:
Pull down the Tools menu, select Options, and then Getting Started. Enter information as follows:
  1. In the Return address field: your e-Campus user ID followed by @mail.uri.edu; for example, smith123@mail.uri.edu.
  2. In the Mail Server (Incoming) field: mail.uri.edu
  3. In the Login Name field: your e-Campus user ID. For example, smith123.
  4. In the SMTP Server (Outgoing) field: smtpserv.uri.edu


MS Outlook Express:
Pull down the Tool menu, select Accounts, select the Mail tab, click Add and then select Mail. The Internet Connection Wizard window will appear, as illustrated below.
  1. Select POP3 or IMAP from the My incoming mail server is... pull-down menu. POP3 protocol will download messages to your computer, IMAP protocol will leave the messages on the server.
  2. Enter mail.uri.edu in the Incoming mail (POP3 or IMAP) server: field, and smtpserv.uri.edu in the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server: field.
