The Student Technology Assistant (STA) Program provides student help to faculty who are endeavoring to enhance or increase the use of multi-media technology in their curriculum and/or classroom. The program includes the Student Technology Assistants who provide support for the creation of digital materials to be used within the curriculum and Student Media Assistants (SMAs) who provide classroom technical expertise.
Instructional Technology Center
The Instructional Technology Center was established by Information and Instructional Technology Services (MTS) to offer the URI community a facility with high-end multimedia hardware and software for developing instructional materials, creating materials for new interactive media, and for exploring asynchronous learning technologies.
Instructional Technology and Media Services
nstructional Technology and Media Services in 217 Chafee provides computing, networking, and audiovisual technology support for instruction in teaching and learning facilities.
The Multimedia Computing Facilities are self-service, media development facilities with authoring software and peripheral equipment for conversion of media into digital format as part of instructional material development, interactive media, and asynchronous learning technologies.
Information Technology Services (ITS) provides leadership and a coherent framework for information services and technology standards in support of teaching and research. ITS consists of two units: University Computing Systems (UCS) and Media and Technology Services (MTS).
