Thera Project

thera camtasia tour

Faculty: Professors Steven Carey and Harladur Sigurdsson
Graduate School of Oceanography and Marine Office Programs
STA: Steven Barbera, Kristina Golubiewski, and Nate Haskins
Date: 2006
STA projects involved: Thera page and Endeavor animations

The Thera Expedition website was developed by the STA to help share information about Thera to a wide audience. The website presents an overview of the background information involved with the expedition. The website also acted as an online journal for the scientists to publish their day to day activities, findings and pictures.

STA used an array of technologies to bring the project together. The Thera site was built using Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Flash, Maya, XML, and RSS.

The site was developed to support several expeditions in the Black Sea, Mediterranean, and the Sea of Crete. The expeditions took place between April and June 2006.

Camtasia was used to provide a means for the STA team to show the site to viewers who don't have access privileges to the actual site. To learn more about Camtasia, click here.
