In the summer of 2006, a team of faculty, undergraduate, and graduate students from the University of Rhode Island's Department of Geosciences participated in a experiential learning trip to parts of Utah and Yellowstone National Park. The primary reasons for the trip were to provide students with a hands on opportunities and to study geological features unique to those areas.

Quicktime player is needed to view the above video. This video may take a while to download, please be patient.

To support and document this research project, numerous DPRC resources were made available e.g. HDV digital video cameras, to document the fieldwork; a professional videographer; and AVID video editing workstations for post production.

The Bingham Copper Mine illustrated in this video example is only one of the many locations experienced by the students during this trip.
