Converting PowerPoint slides into 35mm film

  1. Start the PowerPoint program.
  2. Open the PowerPoint file that you have already created.
  3. Save the PowerPoint file or slides into any one of the following formats: .BMP, .PJC, .DIB, .JPC, .PCT, .PSD, .TIF, or .WMF.
  4. Under PowerPoint, choose File.
  5. Select Save As.
  6. Choose any of the formats listed above.
  7. Give it a name and click on Save.

You are now finished with the PowerPoint part of this procedure. Continue as follows:

  1. Run the Premiere program.
  2. Click on Start, Adobe, and on Adobe Premiere.
  3. Choose File, New, Project.
  4. Select one of the available choices and click OK.
  5. If the Construction Window is not available, click on Windows in the menu choices.
  6. Choose Construction.
  7. Edit your slides by selecting one or all from the Project window and placing them into the Construction window.
  8. Add the Transitions or Audio files if you need them.
  9. After you are done editing, press the enter key any time to see what you have done so far.
  10. Select Yes when you are asked to save.
  11. Give it a name then click Save.
  12. Make sure to save it in PPJ format.

You are now ready to play the movie you just made and record it onto video tape. Continue as follows:

  1. Check the plugs in back of the computer and the VCR to insure that they are connected properly. The cable should be connected already.
  2. Start the Premiere program.
  3. Choose File, Open, select the movie files to be played, and click Open.
  4. Make sure the tape is in the VCR and press record to record a few seconds of blank screen.
  5. Within Premiere, click on Play to view the movie and record at the same time.
  6. When recording is in progress, the cursor will disappear. Double-click the mouse any time to stop the recording.
  7. When you are done, eject your tape out of the VCR. Do not disconnect anything.
