Classroom Improvements - Fall 2003
The equipment listed below has been added, upgraded, or adjusted in the indicated general-assignment classrooms:The Office of Academic Affairs has allocated funds to purchase computer/video projectors for media carts in the following rooms:
- Washburn 020
- Biological Sciences 105A
- Swan 202, 210, 220
- Quinn 209, 211, 214
- Chafee 219/251
- Chafee 167, 601, 801
Chafee 271 - Classroom and Honors Colloquium support:
- new theatrical lighting control kit
- new lapel and hand-held microphones
- adjustments to sound system
- adjustments to overflow of video and audio from Chafee 271 to Chafee 277 to accommodate audience in both rooms
Chafee 273
- a wall-plate computer input control panel has been added
- video and audio playback capabilities have been added
- new speakers have been installed
- a wall-plate computer input control panel has been added

- damaged rear-projection screen replaced with front-projection screen
- video and DVD playback devices for use with podium-controlled rear-projection system have been added to media rack
- wired microphone and powered speaker for instructors have been added to the media rack
- media consolidated and controlled by Crestron Remote Control Device has been installed at podium
- Document camera has been added to podium instructor station
- temporary board lighting has been installed to enhance illumination for Math instruction
- track electrical outlet installed at projector table
- new overhead projection screen
- instructor access to projector improved by removal of one row of seats
- seats relocated within the room to maintain seating capacity of 101
- track and split lighting controls added to enhance projection environment
- document camera added to instructor station in seamless classroom
- smartboard, stationed CPU and laptop inputs, video and DVD playback devices, and wireless microphone for voice enhancement added to the media rack
- temporary media rack replaced installed media rack during Quinn stage renovations
- installed media rack will be replaced, pending completion of renovations
- wall-to-wall whiteboard installed as demonstration site for vendor material test
- summer renovations included fixing leaks, replacing ceiling, and abating floor tile
- wireless microphone system added for general-assignment classroom use
- Other room improvements:
- 10,000 ansi lumens computer/video projector installed
- wireless microphone added to existing sound system
- ceiling-mounted projector replaced and repaired
