University Student Handbook

ATTENTION
Recent Changes to Student Handbook:
Ban on Stimulant Enhanced Alcoholic Beverages.

Effective Wednesday, November 3, 2010, a revision to the Student Handbook banning stimulant enhanced alcoholic beverages will go into effect. The revision in the 2010-2012 Student Handbook reads:

2.25 Banned Alcoholic Beverages
b. Stimulant enhanced alcoholic beverages. Stimulant enhanced alcoholic beverages are prohibited on campus (e.g. Four Loko, Joose, 24/7, Torque).

Stimulant Enhanced Alcoholic Beverages are premixed beverages that combine alcohol, caffeine, and other stimulants. Combining caffeine and alcohol constitutes a dangerous mix because caffeine reduces the person's sense of alcohol intoxication (i.e. "feeling drunk"), which increases risks of engaging in high-risk behaviors, including alcohol-related traffic accidents, violence, sexual assault, suicide, and alcohol poisoning.
