During the current Library Gallery Exhibit, entitled In Plein View, Artist Trish Hurley will be exhibiting her landscapes. The exhibit runs from October 31 through November 25, with an opening reception scheduled for Sunday, November 6, from 2:00–4:00 p.m. in the Library. Trish Hurley’s oil paintings are personal in size inviting the viewer to the intimacy of the moment and space. Her plein-air, atmospheric landscapes are inspired by her love for the outdoors and the ever-changing weather of New England. In each of her still life paintings, she defines a distinct ambiance. In each painting, she strives to awaken all of the senses by capturing the dramatics of light and space.
Trish Hurley received her Master of Fine Arts in Painting from the University of Massachusetts / Dartmouth and her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting from Swain School of Design. A native New Englander, she now resides in Newport, R.I. and instructs at Newport Art Museum, Wickford Art Association, and Southcoast Learning Network in New Bedford, Mass.
