Assignment Guides are online guides to library sources designed to assist students working on assignments in particular courses. They are prepared by a faculty librarian in consultation with the faculty member teaching a course. They are by nature “temporary” — they are displayed for the length of the semester, then removed. Assignment Guides can be used in addition to formal library instruction or instead of it, in special cases where time does not permit the scheduling of a library instruction session for students. To request that an Assignment Guide be created for a course, please contact a Subject Specialist. If students have any questions about using the sources on the list, they may ask for assistance at the Reference Desk or make an appointment to consult with the Subject Specialist in that subject area.
