Statistical Warehouse

Statistical Warehouse is a database of statistical data covering U.S. economics, demographics, social indicators, health, government, politics, geography and weather.

NOTE: To use this database, you must turn off any pop-up blocking software on your computer.

To access Statistical Warehouse, select it from the list of databases at www.uri.edu/library/reference_databases/title.htm At the opening screen, select an appropriate category to search or you may search by keyword in the search boxes in the upper right hand corner.

For assistance in using this database, a “search tips” interactive program will guide you through the search. This program loads automatically when you sign onto the database. To turn it off, click on the “search” option at the top of the screen and click on “turn tips off”.

Once you have selected from your search results the data will be displayed. The source of the data will be given at the bottom of the page. The display can be changed by geographical area, date, alphabetical (“basic”) versus a ranked list by changing the appropriate menus at the top of the screen.

The data can be printed from the screen or as a pdf file. It can also be exported into Excel.

The Power User Mode allows you to create custom reports by selecting data items, geographical locations and dates.
