- URI Govt. Pub. Index Table 1
- CIS Annual. 1971-. Annual.
- To find Congressional information such as hearings,
legislative histories, etc., use the CIS Annual located on Government
Publications Index Table 1. This source indexes Congressional documents by subject, title,
and witness name.
- Look up your topic in the Index volume. Each entry will
refer to an abstract number.
- Look up the abstract number in the Abstract volume. The
abstract will give bibliographic information on the publication, including the SuDocs
number (preceded by a small open circle in the citation) and a short summary of the
publication.
- For SuDoc numbers beginning with Y4,
consult the HELIN Catalog or the government
publications shelflist card catalog located in the Government Publications reading area.
The shelflist is arranged by SuDoc number. A list of book stack numbers and the SuDoc
numbers shelved on each can be found in various locations in the Government Publications
area.
- For SuDoc numbers beginning with Y1,
consult the sign on the index table for translating the SuDoc number to the Congressional
Serial Set system. All Y1 publications are shelved in Ranges 51 and 52.
