Censorship in Schools and Libraries This months lobby display explores how the foundations of freedom of speech and freedom of the press that were established in the First Amendment to the United States Constitution have been challenged during the last 100 years. In a series of posters, incidents of censorship are examined through issues such as Comstockery, Obscenity, Computer Filtering, and publications such as The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Ulysses, and Catcher in the Rye. The exhibit was created by the Long Island Coalition Against Censorship. The display also includes The 100 Most Challenged Books of 1990-2000 compiled by the American Library Association.
