The National Sea Grant Library, the premier information center for the National Sea Grant College Program, is displaying highlights from its collection in the Library Lobby from January 19 to March 5, 2006. The display features a variety of works — from scientific journal articles to posters and beach guides — produced by Sea Grant programs around the nation on topics such as seafood science, aquaculture, marine education, and coastal hazards. The National Sea Grant Library, located in Narragansett, Rhode Island at the University of Rhode Island’s Graduate School of Oceanography, has been accumulating published works on marine and coastal issues for 35 years. It serves as the official archive and lending library for the National Sea Grant College Program — a nationwide network of over 30 university-based programs that work with coastal communities. Its unique, 35,000-title collection includes journal reprints, conference proceedings, books, technical reports, newsletters, advisory reports, atlases, handbooks, and additional materials that are hard to obtain from other sources. Publications cover a variety of topics, including oceanography, fisheries, aquaculture, seafood technology, coastal zone management, marine education, and marine policy. National Sea Grant Library services include:
