Media Resources Center Help Searching for CD-ROMs

The Media Resources Center’s CD-ROM collection is fairly small at the present time, consisting of around 25 separate titles. It is, however, an area that will continue to grow in the near future. Please note that when looking for CD-ROMs you may have more success coming to the MRC and browsing our continually updated list of titles. The Library also has a growing number of CD-ROMs in the general collection, which can also be searched in the following manner.

To search for CD-ROMs in the HELIN library catalog:

1. Search by Subject, Title, or Author.
2. With a listing of potential items now on your screen, select “LIMIT This Search”.
3. Limit the search by selecting the MATERIAL type “COMPUTER FILE”.
4. If you wish to find CD-ROMs located specifically at URI, then limit also by WHERE Item is located, selecting “University of Rhode Island”.
