Media Resources Center Help Searching for Videos

Although the MRC collects a wide variety of materials, videos are the main focus of the collection with well over 2,000 in total. While feature films are available, the main body of this collection consists of documentaries and material related to film studies which may be used to support classroom instruction.

To search for videos, laserdiscs, and 16mm films in the HELIN library catalog:

1. Search by Subject, Title, or Author (name of an actor or director).
2. With a listing of potential items now on your screen, select “LIMIT This Search”.
3. Limit the search by selecting the MATERIAL type “VIDEO/SLIDES”.
4. If you wish to find videos located specifically at URI, then limit also by WHERE Item is located, selecting “University of Rhode Island”.
