How to request materials
Items on Reserve are listed in the HELIN library catalog. Items can be searched by course code,
course title, and instructor. Materials on each list are arranged alphabetically by title.
Step-by-step instructions on requesting materials on reserve or e-reserve can be found in
the user guide Accessing
Reserve Material.
Charge-out procedures
When charging out Library Use Only and Closed Reserve items,
the borrower must leave his or her library card at the Reserves Desk until the item is
returned. Library cards will not be held for Open Reserve items or for overnight loans.
Overdue items
The fine for overdue material is $1.00 per HOUR for Library
Use Only and Closed Reserve items and $1.00 per DAY for Open Reserve items. Unpaid fines
for overdue items will result in a suspension of borrowing privileges. An item overdue
five days will be considered lost. The borrower will be billed for the average cost of an
item plus a processing charge. Borrowing privileges are automatically suspended and
sanctions will be applied by the registrar until the bill for the lost item(s) is settled.
If an item is found and returned at a later time, a refund will be made for the price of
the item with an overdue fine deducted.
