The Various Studies series contains records of Rhode Island Studies that do not fall under Series III-V. The studies mainly cover Rhode Island but there is some material on Georges Bank.

Water quality management, especially sewage, sludge, coliform counts, nitrogen cycles and wastewater treatment are prominent topics. Other topics include: fisheries studies (Georges Bank), estuaries, wetlands, dredging, erosion, aquaculture, groundwater studies and the environmental impact of the proposed Interstate 895.

Types of records include: research data and statistics, published reports, drafts, correspondence, newspaper clippings and photographs.

The records are arranged alphabetically by folder titles, and chronologically within the folders themselves.
