This collection comprises the records of the Kingstown Association, Inc., a corporation which was formed in 1946 to purchase the Anstis French farm at the junction of route 138 and Upper College Road in Kingston, Rhode Island. The Kingstown Associates, a group of alumni of Rhode Island State College, held the property for the Board of Trustees of the College who later purchased it from them in 1947 for $7,200. This sum was what the Kingstown Associates paid for the land, plus two percent interest. The site is now the location of the Faculty/Staff apartments.M

The collection was given to Special Collections at the University of Rhode Island by David G. Geffner on October 30, 1970. He had negotiated the purchase of this property before forming the corporation and then had handled the sale to the Trustees.
