Writing Call Numbers in Books

Writing Call Numbers in Books -- Procedure

CATALOGERS should no longer write Call no. on the title page of a book.
After cataloging (using OCLC contributed record or Original input) put the
book with a barcode onto a truck for labelling. At the labelling station,
students will input the barcode, with scanners, and generate labels from III.

For books without a BARCODE, write the CALL NO. on the title page of the
book. Books for R.I. Coll., Archives and others (non-circulating materials
- except REFERENCE Materials) do not have BARCODE. Marjorie Jackson will handle these materials separately.

DO NOT use THIS NEW PROCEDURE for CCE and PELL Library materials.
