Once you have determined which record you wish to use:
1. Call up record from OCLC database.
2. *Use appropriate Constant Data command (for example, for a mongraph the command
would be acd mono var [F11]). Edit fields as necessary. For more extensive editing go to
#3.
3. Shift F4. This will move the record. (Once the record is moved F5 will allow you to
toggle between the record you are editing and the OCLC database as you search authority
records, etc.)
4. Edit on line, using the cut and paste capabilities.
If you find something in an authority record (OCLC or III**) or another OCLC record:
a. Highlight desired information (use copy from edit menu or copy icon which is 2
sheets of paper.
b. Hit F5 key to move to edited record.
c. Go to place in record where you wish information to appear.
d. Select paste from the edit menu (or the past icon which is a clipboard)
e. If you need to edit the field further you may do so.
f. To save the entire field, press F10.
*To see entire list of Constant Data type cdi at home position in OCLC.
**When using the cut and paste function between III and the OCLC edited record you move
between two sessions rather than F5 to toggle.
