Checkin Records for IEEE

CREATING CHECKIN RECORDS FOR NON-CURRENT SERIALS

(IEEE CONFERENCE PUBLICATIONS)

Use this procedure for attaching Checkin records to Bib records already in HELIN.

  1. Login using your HELIN login and password.

2. At Main Menu choose: O> Ordering & Receiving Subsystem.

S > Serials Processing

 

S > Serials Checkin

3. Type your initials and password.

4. Answer parameter questions as follows: No, No, No, Yes.

5. At: What record do you want to check-in? (RETURN if done)

Record: Type search key (e.g. t title; I ISSN; o OCLC#, etc.) to find your title in HELIN. When the Bib record matching your search displays, press S> Record Summary to view all records attached to the Bib record.

6. Choose A> Create Checkin Record.

What kind of record do you want to attach?

Choose C > Checkin record.

Checkin record defaults: Choose: 10> urided : URI Dead Serials.

7. Follow the prompts below to enter LOCATION, CALL NUMBER, and HOLDINGS:

COPIES: 1 <enter>

LOCATION: riu3e (type over riup) = IEEE Collection

SCODE 3 c (type over d) = canceled

CALL# MARC tag 090 <enter> Type call number

 

LIB. HAS: Enter summary holdings statement in approved format. See attached HELIN Serial Data Entry Standards.

8. At: Creating a card. Starting cover date mo-dy-yr, press <ESC>.

New Checkin record displays.

9. Insert internal note: Choose I> Insert a field.

Tag of new field? z.

INT. NOTE… type: IEEE Conference Pubs subscription canceled for 1996 <enter>

  1. To add the new record: Type Q (Quit); A > ADD record to the database.

New Checkin record number displays.

Press <SPACE> to continue. Display returns to Step # 5above.
