  5. Selective Journal Holdings: SCI/SSCI provide rankings of scholarly journals based on a number of categories. The following is the ranking published in Journal Citation Reports for 1998, by impact factor :

Aida Marissa Smith’s "Mapping the literature of dietetics" (Bull. Med Libr Assoc, 87(3), July, 1999, p.292-297), identifies 86 journal titles as the core literature of dietetics [these 86 titles provide two-thirds of all of the articles cited]. Eight of these titles, all of which are held at URI, provide one-third of all of the citations. We have 62 of the 86 titles in the core list, which provides substantial in-house coverage for the dietetics community at URI.
