Located at the entrance to the Library, the Circulation Desk is the place where you can check out and return library materials. This is also where you can activate your account so you can borrow books and renew materials. Circulation is the place to go if you have any question about your library account.

Current periodicals, including journals, magazines and newspapers are located at the far end of the first floor. Only the latest issues (ones from the current year or volume) are kept on this level. Older issues are bound into volumes and are shelved in the lower level of the library. Both current and bound periodicals are shelved in order by their call numbers.

Call numbers for the periodicals that URI carries can be found by searching the HELIN catalog which will also tell you which volumes are bound and which are current. Many of the titles are indexed in the Library's print and electronic resources. (Directory)
