| The Media Resources Center is located next to Special
Collections near the main stairway on the second floor. There you'll find the library's
collection of videorecordings and other audiovisual materials. |
| There are also several DVD players, VCRs
and monitors with headphones for previewing videos. Audiotape and CD players are
also available for use in the Media Room. (Directory) |

Level 2 |
| Located directly across from the Media Resources Center on
Level 2 you'll see the microforms area. ERIC documents, newspapers, some periodicals and
other selected material are available on microfiche or microfilm. |
| Readers and printers are set
up next to the microform cabinets and help is available from the Media Center staff. (Directory) |

Return to
Level 2 |
| Turn right out of the main stairway on the second floor
and you'll find Special Collections. As the name implies, this area houses material that
requires special storage apart from the general collection. |
| In Special Collections you'll
find the University Archives, the Rhode Island Collection, rare books, the manuscripts
collection and the New Leaves Press. This area is open weekdays from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
and its materials must be used in the Special Collections Reading Room. (Directory) |

Return to
Level 2 |
| Much of Level 2 contains some of the general circulating
collection. Books beginning with the Library of Congress Call Numbers Q through Z are
shelved here. This includes material in the sciences. (Books beginning with the letters
A-P are located on Level 3.) |
| The Vice Provost for Information, the Dean of University
Libraries, and their support staff have offices in
the Administration area. |
| Administration is the place to
go to apply for student jobs in the Library, request study carrels, or pose any fiscal or
policy questions you might have. (Directory) |
