Diversity Awards

URI Diversity Awards
The University of Rhode Island Diversity Awards celebrate Students, Faculty,
Administration and Staff that have demonstrated commitment to community
leadership, academic excellence and service in promoting diversity and
multiculturalism. These individuals work in promoting human difference as assets.
The Diversity Award is to acknowledge their contribution towards building and
sustaining an equitable and multicultural community at URI.

Organization Excellence (Leadership/Service) Award

Co-sponsored by the Multicultural Center and the URI Office of Affirmative Action, Equal Opportunity,
and Diversity

Eligibility Criteria:

This award recognizes an organization which worked/works with exceptional effectiveness to accomplish a specific task
The organization must be 90% URI students who are currently enrolled in at least 6 credits
The organization functions effectively, demonstrated by having a clear sense of purpose and goals, aspiring to standards of excellence, effective leadership which focuses on collaboration and inclusion, empowered organizations, support and recognition of organization members, and competent and skilled organization members

Nomination forms are also available at the Multicultural Center and can be faxed to
401-874-5952, or returned to Mailee Kue at the MCC.

The quantity of nominations a nominee receives does not affect the nominee's candidacy.
One nomination is sufficient.
All nomination forms need to be completed in their entirety.
An incomplete form will negatively impact the nominee.
