Diversity Awards
The University of Rhode Island Diversity Awards celebrate Students,
Faculty,
Administration and Staff that have demonstrated commitment
to community
leadership, academic excellence and service in promoting
diversity and
multiculturalism. These individuals work in promoting
human difference as assets.
The Diversity Award is to acknowledge their
contribution towards building and
sustaining an equitable and multicultural
community at URI.
Undergraduate Student
Excellence (Leadership/Service) Award

by the Multicultural Center and the URI Office of Affirmative Action,
Equal Opportunity,
and Diversity
Eligibility Criteria:
Undergraduate student in a degree program currently enrolled in at least 6 credits
Student's contribution makes a positive impact on the University community
Be in good academic standing
Student
demonstrates outstanding leadership characteristics and skills such
as motivation, enthusiasm,
self-reliant, problem solver, good manager, good organizer, courageous,
honest, credible, focused,
empower others, inspires shared vision, etc.
Student makes a significant contribution to their club/group/organization
Student should hold a specific leadership position in the group
Nomination
forms are also available at the Multicultural Center and can be faxed
to
401-874-5952, or returned to Mailee Kue at the MCC.
The quantity
of nominations a nominee receives does not affect the nominee's candidacy.
One nomination is sufficient.
All nomination forms need to be completed in their entirety.
An incomplete form will negatively impact the nominee.
