Alton Jones Campus-Environmental Education Center
The Multicultural Center works on a broad range of issues
that empower members of
the campus community and nurture values, such as mutual
respect, cooperation, and teamwork.
URI students will head off to URI's W. Alton Jones Campus
for a
highly structured, interactive retreat. The overnight
retreat -- designed to
affect heart, mind, and body-- includes outdoor physical
activities and a
host of other activities designed to enhance unity.
Unity Weekend's goal is fourfold:
- To increase understanding among students of different
ethnic,
racial, and cultural backgrounds.
- To forge working relationships among these students.
- To increase communication skills and enhance unity.
- To train participants to bring these skills and understanding
back
to their communities.
