Black American Society


Introduction:

This is an open group geared towards educating individuals on Black culture. It is also meant to educate the youth in the Black community.

Mission:

The purpose of this organization shall be to enlighten students about the importance of diversity by utilizing resources as well as collaborative and collective knowledge amongst ourselves. We will also motivate our peers and ourselves to keep on the path of success and higher education. Promoting awareness about minority achievement in the U.S. today and educating the URI community about the diverse cultures, are also our focus. The Black American Society will strive to highlight the spirit of our diverse communities by taking part in various community outreach programs. Lastly, we will provide social outlets through cultural, educational and recreational programs both on and off campus.
