National Association of the Advancement of Colored People


Introduction:

The NAACP is a non-profit organization established with the objective of insuring the political, educational, social, and economic equality of minority groups. Its goal is to eliminate race prejudice and remove all barriers of racial discrimination. The University of Rhode Island NAACP promotes civil rights, desegregation, and racial equity within the URI campus community.

Mission:

The mission of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People is to ensure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate racial hatred and racial discrimination.
