FAQ & Important Information
All arrangements for food and dining services, meeting facilities, insurance, special security and housing must be made through URI CSPD. Appropriate agreements are attached as contract riders.
All rooms are in "as in" condition and set-up as normally used. All normal utilities are included in the charges for meeting room use. Special wiring, including extension cords, and special construction must be especially arranged for, outlined in rider attached hereto, and will be charged to the client at actual cost.
A regular complement of security personnel will be employed and on duty throughout the period of the conference. However, URI assumes no responsibility for theft of, or damage to, any personal property of client or client's participants.
URI will not furnish any medical services to participants nor to other persons affiliated with the client. Emergency medical aid may be obtained at the emergency room at South County Hospital, Wakefield, RI.
Any incident requiring medical services or an emergency response team must be coordinated through URI Campus Police at campus extension 4-2121, or 874-2121 if using off-campus phone service. URI Police will dispatch appropriate on or off campus authorities as required.
Responsibilities of the Client
To insure that the University of Rhode Island's facilities are accurately described, the client shall submit, for prior approval by the University's representative, all descriptive materials, housing registration forms or notices concerning the client's meetings or activities at the University. The client shall not distribute or publish any such material that has not been approved.
The client will be required by the University to obtain insurance at the client's expense.
The client will be charged sales tax if they are unable to produce a Rhode Island tax exempt certificate or other means of proof.
Clients will be responsible for any damage caused by client's participants during their stay on campus.
